Ceramic Showcase cancelled

A straw poll of participants came back three to one in favor of pulling the plug now on the May 1-3 event. We've already paid out on some publicity materials--mainly printing posters and postcards--but will be able to get back hall rental, our biggest expense. Booth fees will be refunded, but I'll probably still be out my motel room, unless Priceline does something extraordinary. 

Put a lid on it

Glazing casseroles and covered crocks is an interesting challenge. On the one hand, the image will get seen even when the pot is i use, unlike, say, a plate or bowl. On the other hand, there's that knob getting in the way. Here's a few items from yesterday, showing how I dealt with it.


Today was more open forms--pastas, bakers, pies--though I had a couple of lidded forms left that didn't fit into the last bisque firing.

Saturday Market opening postponed

Got an email from Saturday Market this afternoon. Opening weekend is postponed to Saturday, April 18. Not sure if we'll be participating; Denise is in a high-risk group. We'll just have to wait and see.
