I'm so very tired.
Clay Fest was a great success, I worked like crazy to fill the kiln for Clayfolk, and then discovered, while loading the glaze kiln, that I'd missed the opening of sign-up for December firings, and my preferred dates had been sniped. So I had a choice--I could wait until later in December, and not have new work until the last two weekends of Holiday Market, or I could go early. Which will mean loading December 1.
So I've been throwing like crazy again--did 82 mugs and tumblers at Club Mud while firing the glaze kiln, came home and made bakers and pastas and stew mugs and casseroles and pie plates. A few more dinner and dessert plates. Some special order hummingbird salt and pepper shakers. I got the last of the current run trimmed and handled today, so they can be drying in the studio over Clayfolk; loaded and bisqued the mugs at Club Mud Sunday and yesterday. Still need to do a couple of dozen soup bowls, maybe some serving bowls, depending on how things sell in Medford. And I could use some incense dragons and frog banks, but they just take too much time. What I have will have to be enough.
Meanwhile, I got an email last Monday--would I have time to do one more ad for Clayfolk? They'd finally connected with the Medford paper, but the deadline was 3 pm Tuesday. So I spent most of Tuesday on the computer instead of the wheel, because of course, one ad turned out to be nine. Two print ads, seven digital.
All the while dealing with an annoying health issue that's been going on two-and-a-half months and is a literal pain in the ass. Sigh.
I took a bunch of pictures during the last making and glazing cycle, but haven't had time to resize them to upload here (I'm at about 80% of my picture quota). Maybe I'll have time and energy next week, once I'm loaded in at Holiday Market and waiting for the Thanksgiving turkey to be ready. In the meantime, here's tonight's dinner: deep dish Chicago-style pizza.
