Slightly Off Center

Out running errands yesterday, I decided to take a shortcut from the Newman Center, where I'd dropped off a quiche for the students' Food and Finals, to Great Harvest Bakery. I'm noodling down Emerald Street, about to cross 23rd, when a possum scampers across the road, half a block ahead. Meanwhile, six wild turkeys are wandering down the middle of the street on the other side of 24th, soon joined by a seventh, flying out of a tree at the intersection.

Made my morning.
