So Denise was quoting TOS  Mirror, Mirror this morning, which made me wonder: When we visualize someone's evil twin, why do we always imagine them with a goatee, a la Spock, rather than a sinister scar, like Sulu?

I think the association of the goatee with villainy was already established independently in media, wasn't it?
