A matter of degree

Bacon Numbers are floating around the internet again. I've come across a Tumbler survey several times asking for your degree of separation from Kevin Bacon. Just for funsies, I clicked through to the Bacon number calculator. Turns out, I've got a number of possible routes: musicians I've had on the radio show (eg: Peter Oshtroushko links to Tommy Lee Jones via A Prairie Home Companion, Tommy was in JFK with Kevin) that give me a Bacon Number of 3. But I can do even better.

I once sold a piggy bank to Casey Affleck for his son at Saturday Market. Casey was in Lemon Sky with Kevin.

My Bacon Number is 2.

My Bacon number is 3, via a couple of people I know who happen to have a #2 Bacon and have announced said fact. But I feel like, natively, my number is closer to 5 or 6, because normally I don't have any idea who the people I know, happen to know.

Mine is three or four, if I'm doing this right? I (1) know someone quite well who is a cousin to Harrison Ford (2). Harrison Ford makes it to Bacon via being in Air Force One with Thom Berry (3), who was in Apollo 13 with Bacon (4)

I mean, I'm never sure where the counting starts. Is Kevin Bacon the only true 1?

As I understand it, Kevin is zero. Thom Berry would be 1, Harrison Ford 2, friend/cousin is 3 so you are 4.

I wonder if you could get closer via a SF author? I was surprised how low the Bacon Numbers were for Peter Ostroushko, Greg Brown and Pete Seeger.
