offcntrHad to pick up some things at Costco and Office Depot, so decided to add in my bi-weekly grocery run to the new Winco, just across the parking lot.
I'm very used to the one out on Barger, and before that its Waremart incarnation on West 11th. This one is laid out largely the same, but bigger. It's in an old Shopko, and there's probably about 50% more floor space. And things aren't always where I expect them to be. Soy milk is on the aisle with tea and cereal, but buried in the middle somewhere, instead of on the end. And I swear, they try to hide the fresh mushrooms from me every time.
The thing I noticed today, though, was that the "attention" tone on their public address system was the exact chord that starts a popular TikTok sound clip. So every time there was an announcement--and there were a lot of announcements--my brain would happily provide the next two notes and begin singing "Whatever happened to--the boy that I once knew..."
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no no no no no.
