Flying solo
Apr. 18th, 2015 09:13 pmDenise went to Newport this weekend, for the Paper Arts Festival, so I got to do Market solo.
It's a little tricky. There are parts of our booth that are really best assembled by two people at once, and we tend to divide up the pottery boxes between us in very set ways: she gets stew mugs, painted mugs, tall mugs, plates; I have cookie jars, casseroles, bakers, soup and serving bowls, banks. We each have our own ways of stacking the boxes and organizing the display, and it's hard to remember what she does when she's not here.
Not impossible, though. I think I got everything more or less right, and it only took me an extra half hour to set up in the morning, 20 minutes to take down. It didn't hurt that the weather was nice, so I didn't have to put sides on the tent, or keep empty boxes under cover in the booth.
But I'll be tremendously happy to have her back next Saturday.
