Reading and loafing
Apr. 16th, 2021 11:14 amI'm down to 16 tall mugs in the shed again, after firing over 60 in the last kiln. Some of them went into the van, for restock, or to replace ones sold at Market. But a lot of them went to Tsunami Bookstore. They've asked for more stock twice in the last month, and this week, Emily asked if I wanted more shelf space?
I didn't want to commit more tall mugs--which I don't have; thought of adding painted mugs, but didn't want to undercut my slightly costlier tall mugs. I have a lot of dessert plates in back stock right now; why not try those?
So I rearranged things to allow me to set five plates up on stands (not included in sale), with five more in a stack next to them. Think the display looks pretty good.

I also dropped by Great Harvest Bakery while I was in the neighborhood (they're literally across the street) to take a few pics of their mug display. Apparently, they've been selling well too, probably helped by the "Buy One, Get a Loaf of Bread Free" promotion. Happy to see them doing well. The beginning of the pandemic hit them hard, when sandwich and coffee orders had to close. They still haven't been able to reopen the free sample board.

One nice thing for both of us: they're paying me in store credit. I'm pulling in the bread, while they're rolling in the dough!
