Thermoregulation
Oct. 17th, 2020 09:52 amSetting up at Market, quarter past 7. It's around 50°, grey, damp. I came wearing shorts, tee shirt, sweat pants, flannel shirt and denim jacket. Wool socks over tube socks in birkenstocks. Wool cabbie's hat.
Immediately, I'm sweating, unloading boxes and setting up shelves. I take off my jacket and hat. I take off my flannel and put on my hat. Take off the sweats but put back on the flannel. And repeat.
Finally set up, still grey and slightly breezy. I'm in shorts, shirt, flannel over shirt and hat. Oh, and both pairs of sox.
And a very sweaty face mask.
ETA: Sun came out about 2 pm. Lost the hat immediately, flannel shortly thereafter. Wool socks held out until 3:15.
By the time we closed at 5, I was seriously considering the flannel and hat again.
October, why are you so weird?
