The greenery behind me is eight feet high. It had been cut completely down, right to the ground, last winter. And it's growing on a concrete slab; through the cracks, around the edges.

This is what Himalayan blackberries can do in Oregon.

Why don't we burn them to the ground, sow the earth with salt?

The berries are so good.

Hah, ours aren't quite there yet but next week! Which means I've got to finish eating last year's jam I guess.

Got two buckets in the fridge, will pick again tomorrow morning, then cook and can jam while it's still cool.
