Back in the studio
Apr. 21st, 2020 05:49 pmAfter a month's absence from pottery in general, closer to six weeks since doing any throwing, I went back into the studio yesterday. Taking it easy for now, limiting myself to fifty pounds of clay a day, which is basically a couple of hours in the morning. Simple things and special orders first: Big serving bowls, some iris planters I promised Denise, dog and cat bowls.

Once I've warmed up a little, I need to develop a new mug form for my favorite bakery. I've got one of their current, commercial mugs, and I ordered a rubber stamp of their logo, but I have to take measurements, calculate shrinkage, and then just throw a bunch of them to get good and consistent. While feeling like I'd rather nap, or sew.
Part of the problem is I've been getting up later and later, and morning is always my best art-making time. I might have to discipline myself, start setting an alarm again.
