A Potter's Table
Nov. 27th, 2014 05:30 pm
On an ordinary evening, we load up plates in the kitchen, move just enough junk off the dining room table to make room for supper and maybe a library book.
Thanksgiving is different. It's an excuse to clear off the table, lay out a spread, to serve everything in handmade pottery.
Ten potters are represented here, besides myself. Joe Bennion pots hold the cranberries and beets. Jon King bowl (not pictured, still in the microwave…) has squash and Chris Gum the mashed potatoes. Sparkling cider is being served in tumblers by Dave Winget and Glenn Burris. Barbara Jensen mug at my place. And ceramic trivets by Denise Gosar, Steve Provence, Daniel Conan Young and Stephani Stephenson.
Dinner plates, Denise's mug, gravy boat, bakers with dressing and sweet potatoes and the big oval turkey platter are by yours truly.
Happy Thanksgiving!
