I'm still amazed sometimes at the things I paint on pottery for people. Hamster mugs. Weasel plate. A Jabberwock, per the Tenniel illustrations, and no, I'm never gonna do that again.
Current firing has a couple of lulus as well:


Yup, that's a banana slug pie plate. With ferns. They specified ferns. Presumably for banana (slug) creme pie. And the pitcher on the left? Hippo. The customer saw a hippo dessert plate in the booth, and fell on it with glad cries. Didn't buy it. Just was happy I'd done hippos, so she could have one painted on a pitcher. Her very own hippo-pot.
Also on order for this fire, pet portraits, including a dog, two cats and a Haflinger horse. Oh, and peacock cookie jar, a pattern that turned out so well I made two, so I could have one for the booth.
