It's a small small world
Apr. 25th, 2022 09:33 pmWent to the opening reception Thursday night to snaffle cupcakes and schmooze with folks. Traded bookmarks with a paper artist from Roseburg who it turns out:
1. I follow on Instagram
2. Is doing a major installation at the Eugene Public Library this week, and
3. Was a pottery student of mine many years ago at the UO Craft Center.
I shouldn't be that surprised about number three, I guess; after ten years there, I have enough former students to form their own statistical universe. Still I didn't expect to meet one here at a Paper/Book Arts Festival. Much less two.
Iris, the instructor of the two workshops we signed up for also took pottery from me at the Craft Center, 25 years ago.
