offcntrDreamwidth user lolaley, who usually posts pictures of her mouthwatering baked goods, had something different this week. A YouTube link to a video about a family in Karelia (where northwestern Russia and eastern Finland meet). It's from a cooking show, but the husband is also a traditional potter, so they spend time in his studio as well as in the kitchen. They also visit an outdoor art/crafts fair in midwinter, which is a thing--thanks God--I've never yet experienced.
Also? I ate a lot of smelt growing up, but we never baked them like that.
