So to make shopping easier with our Clay Fest centralized checkout system, we provide shopping baskets, the kind you use at the grocery when you're just picking up a few items. It makes carrying your purchases around much easier, and I noticed a few even have a foam rubber pad on the bottom. Handy.
I was working as cashier yesterday afternoon when a customer came up to the counter with three baskets of pottery to purchase.
All of it mine.
She'd gone to the booth, put poor Denise to work pulling out boxes, and chosen a thirty-piece place setting: ten soup bowls and ten each dinner and dessert plates. And Laura, our show chair, directed her specifically to my station, just to see my reaction.
Yikes! $830 in one sale, and two-thirds of the tag board covered in my price stickers.
