Technically, this one's a black-and-blueberry; blueberries from Farmer's Market, black from the first picking in our backyard. Took it to the Club Mud meeting/slash potluck on Wednesday. It's a good thing Denise was there with me to load the kiln, or she wouldn't have gotten a piece at all.

Excuses

So I totally missed last week's Market report; finally updated the In Stock list on my website this afternoon. And am only now getting anything out here at all. But I have my reasons:

1. I broke a tooth at breakfast Wednesday morning, Which means I had to call a dentist. And then find a new dentist, as my regular is down to one staff member, is prioritizing people with dental insurance, which I don't have, and could see me in, oh, two to three month. Receptionists gave me a few other options to try, and and I came up second-try lucky. Oakmont Family Dental could get me in at their Springfield location at 9 am, would that work? So I was in the chair getting x-rays by 9:30, tooth pulled by 10:30--there was too little to save--and was finally able to start glazing around lunchtime. Which I skipped, because, jaw and tongue still frozen. I now have three missing molar/premolars, very inconvenient for chewing, oh, anything, especially mixed nuts. Gotta get serious about researching implants, I think.

2. So glazing was pushed back, but the firing couldn't be, because I'm going up to Anacortes next week for a show. So I was putting in ten and twelve hour days at the studio. I think I glazed 96 pots on Thursday.

3. Speaking of Anacortes, I needed to order, label and stamp postcards for my mailing list. Thankfully, Denise helped with this, or I don't think it would've gotten done. I only sent out the email postcards this morning.

4. Also? Club Mud monthly meeting. I'm the secretary, so couldn't skip. Still managed to get the kiln loaded and lit.

5. And I also repaired one of the electric kilns while I was firing, a hot, sweaty job. The plug had gotten loose in the outlet, then sparked, burning out both. Karen picked up a replacement plug and receptacle, but neglected to get a box to install it in, so I was buzzing around town trying to buy parts during the hottest part of the day (and the firing). Managed to finish the repair, but was left with no motivation or energy to do my other tasks: typing up minutes, updating my website.

Posting on my blog.
