Full house
Oct. 21st, 2022 06:23 pmIn the five days since Clay Fest, I've managed to fill the entire studio; every ware board has pots on it. There's a double stack on the kiln, dessert plates behind the pies and teapots, and serving bowls way up top, above the picture. There's also two boards of mugs not in the picture at all; one's on the wheel table and the other on the slab roller cart. I've thrown 75 to 100 pounds of clay most every day except today--only 50. Tomorrow I have to finish putting handles on mugs and assembling casseroles. And smoothing and stamping plates and trimming dinner salad bowls. The hope is that everything in this first run will be done so I can turn on the fan and the heater and try and get something dry enough to load into the kiln on Sunday while I'm down in southern Oregon for a Clayfolk meeting.

And then next week I need to make soup bowls, toddler bowls, stew mugs. It never ends.
