In the five years since I retired from KLCC, I've been slowly going through my CD collection. I'd take a bunch to the studio, or Club Mud, and listen as I worked. The plan was to weed out the ones I only had because I might want to play them on the radio, donate them to the station's record sale. I'd end up with a much leaner collection, of music I really wanted to hear.
Because I'd been pulling them off in more-or-less random order, and stuffing the sorted ones back wherever they'd fit, they were really scrambled. This didn't matter, as I rarely needed to find a specific track or anything.
Until I did.
Yesterday, I finished cutting together another video, throwing coffee mugs, and really wanted to put it to Trout Fishing in America's What I Want is a Proper Cup of Coffee.
And couldn't find it.

Which means I'm finally starting my long-overdue re-alphabetizing of my CD library. Here's the first step. The tote boxes are, from front right, A-D, E-J, K-P, and R-W. The blue tub on the table is X-Y-Z-Various Artists. Those are standard, 22-quart flip-top totes.
Snort. Leaner music collection.
I did find the song I wanted, though. In the last dozen CDs. Today I dust the shelves and start with A.
