I haz a sad

Unloaded the last kiln load of refires last night, and discovered that this lovely pasta bowl had developed a crack, all the way around the foot. Looks like I trimmed it too thin, right there. It survived the first glaze firing, but not the second.

It didn't open up all the way, but it certainly can't be used like this. Guess it goes up on the studio wall.

My studio has a Wall of Shame, where I hang up all the broken pots that are too pretty to just throw away. Some of them are like this, victims of the firing. More often, though, it's stuff I broke at a show, glued back together and up on display.
