Jul. 17th, 2016 07:12 amIt's been a good show in Salem so far. Weather much better than last year, sunny to intermittently cloudy, highs in the 70s (unlike last year's 100°+). Turnout is good, and all the Eugenians I talk to report good to excellent sales.

This is only my second year here, and I'm already getting repeat customers. I start out Saturday with a $132 sale, a family stopping in to purchase six dessert plates to go with the six soup bowls they bought last year. I'll have to come back next year to be sure they get their dinner plates.
My favorite are a mother and her adult daughter who stop in late in the morning. Daughter is trying to remember who she bought what pots for last year. "Did I buy you the chickadee plate last year?" she asks her mother.
"No," replies Mom. "If you had gotten me a chickadee plate, I would still have it and would cherish it forever."
Testify!
