More photos from the glazing cycle, specifically from Wednesday, which was Mug Day.

I started by glazing 16 stew mugs. Then 21 tall mugs, 21 tumblers. I had 24 painted mugs as well, but ran out of steam around number 16, so left the remainder for Thursday morning. With a few other random items, that was 75 pots, 75 paintings in one day.

Kiln loading day is always tricky with a sculpture. I like to put them at the top, centered next to the cone pack. This means I need to measure the piece, measure down from the top, make sure I stop loading in that spot low enough. In this case, I mess up, have to take a shelf of dessert plates out again.

Afterwards, it's a matter of finding things the right size and shape to fit around it, in this case, cookie jars and dragons. And then stacking the other shelves up on either side. My last view of Marjorie is the top of her head poking out over the jar lids. My last view of the elephant is one eye peeping out behind the cones.

The view from the peephole as I begin cooling the kiln today. The "tusk" in the foreground is cone 11.
