Stumbled across a Tumblr largely devoted to short video clips on a wide variety of subjects, but having in common an almost hypnotic affect. Whether it's calligraphy, cookie decorating or mixing paints, it's really easy to fall down a rabbit hole watching them.

The reason I'm passing the link along isn't that I want you to lose literally hours scrolling through them; there's actually several that are pottery-related: three showing the creation of Yixing teapots, one (repeated several times) showing a technique called nerikomi, where the pattern is created from color clay logs, and one I've never seen before, that seems to involve slip casting a mold with successive layers of different colored casting slip, then carving through to expose the different colors when leather hard.

Here are his pottery video clips.

And here's another nerikomi, from the "#art" tag. (I think he didn't realize this is clay, too.)

I have one beautiful, simple purple sand teapot (for oolong only) that I bought when in culinary school. I figure it must have been made for export, because it has four tiny oval cups and saucers, and what Chinese person would give four of ANYthing?

Zi sha teapots are a delight. I wish I had a collection of more than one.
